State College for Women have
set aside the Christmas season in
this state and wherever the
daughters of G. S. C. reside to
be a G. S. C. W. Christmas for
all who are attending or have at
tended the institution.
Miss Louise Smith, president of
the alumnae association, has al
ready received letters from G. S.
C. W. Clubs that are planning
some social feature for the Yule-
tide season, honoring the girls
here. These students, in turn, are
to carry to these older alumnae
all the fun. happiness, news, and
spirit that the college affords.

Club, recently organized under
the leadership of Mrs. Marie
Tucker Butts (Mrs. Arthur) is
making preparations to entertain
the Gainesville girls who are at
tending this coUeg'e during
Christmas.

Macon. Ga., Dec. 9.— (Special!
Among the recent enlistments in the
U. S. Marine Corps was Alton R.
Chambers, son of Mr. and Mrs.
Chambers, rural route one, Milledgc-
ville, according to an announcement
made today by the officer in charge
of the District Recruiting Office.
Macon municipal auditorium. He is
a former student at Georgia Military
College.
Chambers was assigned to Paris
Island. S. C-, for preliminary train
ing. Later he will become eligible
for service at Marine stations at
home and abroad, and for duty with
detachments serving on board the
larger ships of the fleet.
The Macon office is accepting ap
plications for enlistment. Full in
formation and application can b«
procured from that headquarters.
