Rev. F. H. Harding, Rector, will conduct both services. Catholic Church Father McNamara, Priest. Sunday, the Fourth Sundav in Advent, morning services at the Catholic church will be at 11:15 and •ill consist of Mass, Sermon, and Benediction. The Sermon on this ccaslon will be on the subject Preparation for Christmas." Sun day-School at 9 30. No evening ervice. Mass Monday and Tuesday morn ing at 7:30. The Christmas Service will be at midnight Tuesday and will consist of Mass and Sermon, the sermon on the subject. “The Christ-Child.” Following the mid night service here Father McNa mara will conduct a service on Christmas morning at Sandersville at 8:30 and at Dublin at 11. The general public is cordially invited to at'end the Midnight Christmas Service. Following the service in Dublin Father McNamara will go on to Savannah to spend the rest of the week with his parents. The December meeting of the Nancy Hart Chapter, Daughters of : the An erican Revolution, met Tues day afternoon on the mezzanine of [the Campus Theatre, with Mrs. Roy j Alford, Mrs W. T. Garrard, Mrs. J. J. Garrard, Mrs. George Tunnell and Miss Martha Bass as Hostesses Mrs. Tunnell, the Regent, presided The D. A. R. Ritual, which includ ed the pledge to the flag, the Amer ican's Creed, Star Spangled Banner and America, was used in opening the meeting. Following a short business meet ing. Mrs. Chnrlts Moore, First-Vice Regent, presented Father McNamara, who was the guest speaker, having as his subject, “Old Time Christmas Celebrations.” His discourse was most entertaining and enlightening a« to the Christmas customs and legends In many countries. Miss Maggie Jenhlns, told the Christmas Fairy Story from which the “Nut Crackers Suite" by Tsch- aikowsky was taken and played the following musical numbers from it: March. Arabran Dance. Chinese Dance. Dance of the Toy Flutes and the Waltz of the Flowers. Manv Christmas gifts were brought for the two Real Daughters of Gibson. Miss Sarah Pool and Mrs. Mary Pool Newsome, to be delivered by M{ss Elizabeth Jcnes. Chairman. The Regent reported that a ci mittee from the chapter had aided Col. Jenkins, chairman of the Com munity Chest and Red Cross, in rais ing funds for this worthy cause. Following adjournment, delightful refreshments were served by the hostesses. CADETS TO BE HONORED AT CHRISTMAS PARTY 7 The pre-Christmas festivity of Georgia Military College will be a reception and dance given the en tire cadet corps on Thursday even ing from eight to eleven in the hut. There will be Yuletide decorations, and favors and a series of special entertainment features. Members of! the faculty are also invited and will be present in the receiving line and serve as assistant hosts and hostesses. FOR SALE—Have several tons of good hay. TENANT FARMER INJURED BY PISTOL WOUND LAST THURSDAY Doc Pcavy is in the City Hospital recuperating from a pistol wound through the right chest and while his condition is serious, he is peeted to recover. Mr. Gordon Hooten is out under bond charged with the shooting of Peavy on last Thursday. The i rant charging Mr. Hooten with the shooting of Peavy was taken Friday morning. Pcavy was shot on the farm of the late Mr. Tom Pugh following an argument between the two men, Sheriff Haynie said. Mr. Peavy was renting a farm from the estate of the late Mr. Tom Pugh and had been notified to vacate the place, follow ing trouble that aroce several weeks ago. Mr. Hooten, who is one of the administrators of the estate, went to see Mr. Peavy about leaving and the discussion arose. Mr. Hooten said Peavy approached him in a threat ening attitude and after warning him to stop several times, he shot with the intention of . striking his arm, but the bullet entered the right chest. Mr. Hooten said he shot in self defense. Peavy was brought to the City Hospital after he was wounded. The trouble with Peavy has been of sev eral months standing, it was stated. Peavy’s story of the trouble was different from the other story. Sher iff Haynie said. G. M. C. P. T. A. TO MEET THURSDAY. The Parent-Teachers Association will meet on Thursday afternoon at four o'rlock in the seventh grade room of the grammar school. Miss Ruth Tabor, of Macon, will give a special demonstration and all members are urged to attend. DR. AND MRS. WELLS ENTERTAIN DOCTORS. Dr. and Mrs. Guy Wells enter tained on Friday evening in honor of the members of the Doctor's Academy. Faculty members holding doctors degrees and members studying for the degree were present. Dr. Francis Daniels, president of the society, presided.
