Mrs. Alma Brantley Wood, wife
of J. E. Wood, passed away Satur
day after an illness of several months
and funeral services were held Sun
day at Friendship church with
interment in the church cemetery-
Rev. J. F. McCluney conducted the
services.
Mrs. Wood is survived by her
lufcband, two brothers Thomas
and Loyd Brantley and parents. Mr.
and Mrs. will Brantley.
Mrs. Wood was bom in Hancock
county Dec. 18, 1908. After com
pleting her education she taught
school and a few years ago married
Mr. Wood. Her death came as a
shock to her many friends although
she had been ill in a local hospital
fer several months. She was a
member of Beulah Baptist church
and was devoted to its teaching,
taking an active part in the work
of the church.
