Funeral services wen? held last
Wednesday afternoon for Mr. Louis
H. Stembridge in the presence of a
large gathering of friends and rela
tives at the funeral home of Mr. Joe
Moon? and interment was in the
city cemetery.
Mr. Stembridge died at th' home
Cc his sister. Mrs. W S. Elder in
Macon. Rev Hansel Stembridge.
Jr., a nephew, paster uf the Cedar-
town Baptist church, conducted the
Mr. Stembridge was bom in Mil-
Udgeville Dec. 23. 1879. the son of
Jchn H. and Frances Hawkins
Stembridge. His father was tax col
lector here for many years and was
the owner of a large tract of land
in what is known as West End. He
was a Spanish War veteran and for
several years had been confined to
veterans hospital. He had a wide
family connection in this county
and many friends here.
Mr. Stembridge is survived by
two sisters. Mrs. Fannie S. Mun
son. of Sanford. Fla., and Mrs. El
lis. of Macon, two brothers. James
S. Stembridge. Hollf»vwoo<i Calif.,
and Dr. H. H. Stembridge. of Waynes
boro.
