of G. M. C. will meet this afternoon
at 4 o'clock in the auditorium of
the Grade Building of G. M. C. Miss

Club and Spring Lake Club enjoy
ed dances on last Friday evening
in celebration of Valentines Day.
The Echetah Club was attractively
decorated for the occasion and a
large crowd was present to enjoy
the affair.
At the Spring Lake Club a box
supper was enjoyed before the
dance. The Spring Lake post office
was open for the party and Valen
tines were distributed by Mr. L. H.
Andrews.

The Woman’s Christian Temper
ance Union will meet on Tuesday
afternoon February 25th at 3:30 at
the Methodist church. All members
are urged to be present.

The program was introduced with
the parodies on the characteristic
flourishes of the amateurs.
Among the numbers cn the pro
gram were: A solo by Mrs. R. E.
Long; a "hick” trio by Mrs. George
Carpenter, Mrs. Stacy Bristow, and
Mrs. Sam Evans, which drew the
gong and resulted in noisy grief by
the artists; a solo by Miss Agnes
Gibson; piano solo by Miss Mane
Fisher, burlesque violin solo by Miss
Eugenia Shy, and clever imitations

Many of ihe rhymes on “How I
Made My Dollar ’ were extremely
clever. Each group of rhyme readers
and each cf the artists were ques
tioned and “kidded" by the major.
A final report on the voting was
given by the judges: Mrs. W. M.
Morrison and Mrs. Grady Villyard.
Delicious sandwiches and cakes
were served by the hostesses and the
entertainment committee, consisting

Kinley, and Mrs. R. H. McCombs.
The program was planned and
given under the direction of Mrs.
George Carpenter, assisted by Mrs.
Sam Whatley and Mrs. R. H. Rey
nolds.

Mrs. Godfrey Osterman and Misses
Alice and Virginia McCraw had a
benefit bridge party on Wednesday
afternoon for the Episcopal Guild
at the home of Mrs. Osterman.
Twelve tables were reserved. At the
conclusion of the games, delicious
refreshments were served.
A CAPPEUA CHOIR TO GIVE
SERIES OF CONCERTS OVER
STATE
Organisation Directed by Dr. Max
Noah to Sing In Several Georgia
Cities.
The a cape!la choir composed of
students from G. S. C. V. and G.
M. C.. numbering over fifty voices,
will leave March 1st for a tour of
south Georgia where they will visit
a number of cities and give concerts.
The choir, which is directed by
Dr. Max Noah, has sung in Sparta.
Eaton ton and Madison and on next
Sunday will sing in Sandenrville.
On Sunday March 1st the choir
will give an afternoon concert in
Augusta and in the evening will
sing in Warren ton. On Monday they
will sing in Statesboro, Tuesday in
Way cross, Wednesday in Cochran
and on Thursday will return to Mil
ledgeville to give a concert here in
the evening.
The program is a most delightful
one and everywhere the choir has
sung, the audiences have been most
appreciative, and high in their praise
of the splendid programs.
