In recent weeks funny incidents
..ave d oveloped in the lobby of the
Merchants & Farmers Bank because
of the spotless way the big plate
glass windows are kept. Mr. L. C.
Hall, vice-president and cashier,
says the porter ot the bank keeps the
windows spotless, so clean in fact
that many customers have thought
there wasn’t even a glass in the win
dow. A few days ago a tobacco
chewing customer, when ready to
empty the excessive supply of am
ber, not noticing the cuspidors,
thought he would expectorate out of
the window, but xnuen to his chagrin
he splattered the glass in the win
dow. Another customer seeing a
friend pass attempted to stick his
head out of the window' and call the
friend before he got away- You can
imagine his emharassment when he
butted his head against the plate
glass. This is only a few of the
many funny scenes that have been
caused at the bank to the merriment
of Mr Hall and his associates. No
body enjoys a good joke more than
Mr. Hall. He always has a good sup
ply of clever, witty stories, and Mr.
Hall likewise has a keen sense of
humor and enjoys a good, clean
story.
