[From tbf HrwlforS flHn”Nov. js3.] Another Error in the Eleetoral fount. Giving to Hayes the votes of Lou isiana, which really voted for Tllden, those of Florida, which did likewise, and those of South Carolina upon the returns claimed by the Republicans, and still Tllden would be the legally elected President. He is entitled to one Electoral vote from South Caro lina, according to the showing of the Republicans themselves. The case is very simple. Tim Hur ley, a low politician, who is said to be the only man in whom Chamberlain really oontldes, was one of the Re publican candidates for the office of * Presidential Eleotor, and ran some 600 votes behind his ticket. This is accounted for in varieas ways, but the fact is not disputed. J. B. Irwin, who received the highest number of votes on the Democratic Electoral ticket, is only 231 votes behind Hur ley. This is admitted by all parties. But it seems that some of the lntel gent colored politicians, who were en trusted with the duty of supplying their followers with printed ballots, did not deem it necessary to bother themselves about sucha trilling for mality as the chotce of an* Electoral College, and so they neglected to put the names of any Electoral candi dates on their tickets. Probably they did not know the names of the party nominees, and with the characteristic indolence of their race, neglected to inform themselves. At any rate, in the lower oounties there wereSOO bal lots cast for Hayes and Wheeler sim ply, without bearing any other names whatever. Now, all of these votes cast for Hayes and Wheeler, in mak ing up the official majerity for those candidates, were counted for Win smith, Johnson, Myers, Nash, Bow en, Cook and Hurley, the Hayes can didates for Electors, though the can vassers had no more legal right to do so than if those ballots had borne the names of Smith and Brown. Under a fair and legal count, those 500 votes cast for Hayes and Wheeler would be thrown out as Illegal and void, wbioh would elect Irwin, theTTtden Elector, by a majority of nearly 300 votes, and his vote would elect Tildeu. A characteristic instance of the dis regard for even the appearance of fairness which prevails among the supporters of Hayes in South Caroli na is found in a remark attributed to Hayne, the colored Secretary of State. This was that he would commission all of the Hayes and Wheeler Elec tors, even if the Supreme Cotrt should decide that Irwin was elected. The thing has been done. Internal Revenue Receipts. The forthcoming report of the Commissioner of Internal Revenue will contain the following recapitula tion of internal revenue receipts for the several States and Territories, during the last fiscal year: Alabama $96,968, Arizona $11,976, Arkansas $63,330, California $3,034,044, Colora do $72,668, Connecticut $656,443, Da kota $12,156, Delaware 41?,227, Dis trict of Columbia $114,579, Florida $176,851, Georgia sßo2,sß*,ldaho $16,- 993, Illinois $23,699,132, Indiana 566,090, lowa $1,211,771, Kansassl69,- 889, Kentucky $7,613,938, Louisiana $528,083, Maine $90,655, Maryland $2,- 570,264, Massachusetts $2,743,941, Michigan $2,065,297, Minnesota $247,- 992, Mississippi $87,448, Missouri $2,- 972,653, Montana $209,822, Nebraska $502,395, Nevada $63,231, New Hamp shire $260,046, New Jersey $771,169, New Mexico, $22,146, New York $14,- 158.374, North Carolina $1,670,303, Ohio $16,568,290, Oregon $43,446, Pennsylvania $5,969,917, RhodS Is land $221,932, South Darolnia f!05,- 565, Tennessee $591,882, Texas $241,- 131, Utah 133,331, Vermont $411850, Virginia $7,313,617. The first slaughtering of the season was done yesterday and the day before by Jones & Smith, and the number approximated 350. We hope the work 'will go on until several thousand are added to the above number. Woodward's Revelation-, The Tribune says that Elbert A. Woodward, Clerk of the Board of Su pervisors during Tweed’s reign, and recently arrested in Chicago, has turned State’s evidence and will make a full confession of the entire trans actions of the ring, not only in the matter of false vouchers'f<?r building the court-house, bat m fraudulent elections as well. It 1 is known that his testimony will be accepted by the prosecuting attorney. His revela tions will involve many Republican as well as Democratic officials, and the particulars of. the dividends of the fund raised id the court-house frauds involve scores of persons who have been hitherto unsuspected. Woodward, as a manager of the pool, was intrusted with the custody of all the oheoks which passed between all the conspirators, and these he ha3 carefully preserved during his six years of voluntary banishment in other lands. These checks remained in this dity, and were to him in tombs, undisturbed with the accumulated dust of five years upon them. The following 1, an extract from a description, published la the New York Tribune, by the wel known agriculturist, Solon Roblnon; All the farmers were of the "well to do" sort, and some of them, who hare turned their attention to fruits and market gardening, have grown rich. The noil la loam, varying tr on sandy to clayey, and surface gontly undulating, intersected with email streams and occasional wet meadows, in which deposits oi peat or muck are stored, sufficient to fertilize the whole upland surface, after it has been exhausted of its natural fertility. It is certainly one of the moat extensive fertile tracts, in an almoet level position, and suitable condition for pleasant farming, that we know of this side of the Western prairies. We found some of the oldest farms apparently just as profitably productive as when first cleared of forest fifty or a hundred years ago. The geologist would soon discover the cause of this continued fertility. The whole country is a msrins deposit, and all through the soil we found evidences of calcareous substances, generally in the form of Indurated calcareous marl, showing many distinct forms of ancient shells, of the tertia ry formation; and this marly substance Is scsttered all through the soil, in a very eomminutad form, and In the exact condition most easily assisailated by such plants as the farmer desiret to EVERYBODY SUITED.
