The Festive Festival.
Friday night at a festival held in "the
bottom," on the outskirts or the oity, by
the colored people, Neal Jackson, colored,
a youth of 21 years, and a eon of Mose
Hixon, colored, about the same ago, be
came involved In a tight, in which Neai
stabbed the latter three times, once in the
side, and in the arm and head. Dr. Gil
bert was sent for and dressed tbe wounds
one ot which—tue one in his elds—the
doctor says la very serious, and may cause
his death. Moses, his father, swore
out a warrant against Neal,
yesterday before Judge Bldenhour, charg
ing him with assault with Intent to mur
der, armed with which Bailiff Pryor pro
ceeded to Hud and arrest him. lire Jus
tice, owing to the serious condition of the
boy, committed tbe prisoner to jail to
await the result of Hixon's injuries. The
stabbing was done with a large, stout
bladed pocket knife, a most formidable
weapon, ground very sharp.

what he has said with referrence to
