THE Petition of Ear y Varner shows .that heretofore, to wi!: on ihe Ist dayiof August 1810,your petitioner was possessed (as oi his own rig. it and property) of a promissory note made by David Skelton, the (late whereof was the 15th of October 1837. That said note was for ih -sum of eight hundred dol lars, p-jyable to 3 our petitioner o. becrer, aud du •on the Ist day of January, 18.18, and given under the hand and se<il of said David Skelton; (a copy of which said note is heriftito annex ed) That said note has been lost or destroyed so that it cannot be found, the same being due and unpaid.
