The Rochester Democrat says that on tire 17th of May, j Mr, Phillips was decoyed to tiro bank of the Missouri i river, where he tifos suddenly seized and forced into a skiff, and carried aoro*s the river into Missouri ; thence lie was taken seven mdej to Weston. Mormons. —The Mormons have firmly established them selves in the Sandwich Islands. “Converted” chiefs have presented them with the island of Laina, near the port of La inn, * which is much frequented by whalers.
