Mr. M. came South about a year ago and resided at Augusta, in this State, up to the time ot his coming to this place a few months since. He had, in connection with others, just opened a clothing store in our midst, and seem ed to be entering upon life with the fairest prospects of success. But all his glowing expectations have been nip ped in the bud. and his young golden dreams put out in the night of death. Although a stranger here, he had by his gentlemanly demeanor, and kind and amiable disposi tion, won a number of warm-hearted friends, who did all for him in his last hours that friendship could suggest.— But, alas ! neither the most flattering prospects for the fu ture, the generous and ennobling qualities ot his nature, or the tenderest sympathies of weeping strangers could avert the fatal darts of the Insatiate Archer.
