Terriblo Accident on the Georgia Bail road, o learn that a terrible accident occurred on the Georgia Railroad, on Thursday night. The engine attached to the up freight train exploded near Thomp son, killing the engineer, J. J. Crawford, and two fire mon, Mosely and McGuire. The train, we learn, was in motion at the time the accident occurred, having jtni finished the ascent of a steep grade. The explo si on is supposed to have resulted from the usual cause —the infusion of cold water into the boiler. — Atlanta Intelligencer. Judge G. T. Howard —We regret to learn that our friend Judge Howard has resigned his seat on the bench oi the city Court, his resignation to take effect from the first of January next. In expressing our regrets, we cannot hut bear witness to the lidehty and impartiality with which he lias performed the varied duties of his office. YVe presume he has come to this determination because of the interference ol the office with the practice of his profession.— Sav. Georgian. Worms!
