Doings at Robertstown and Helen.
Mr. Howell Sims, who recently
came to Robertstown from Jackson
county with his family, has pur¬
chased a lot from Mr Byrd Sims
and has just completed the erection
of a psetty, three room cottage on
the same.
Mr. Martin Abernathy, who
recently purchased a fifty acre farm
from B. H. Abernathy, has just
moved into his new cottage on his
farm.
Mr. John Robertson, who just
recently started a general store at
Robertstown, is almost through
work on his new, two-story, five
room house.
Mr. and Mrs. E. W. Mead,
recent arrivals at Helen from Los
Angeles, Cal., are rejoicing over
the safe arrival of a daughter,
Miss Eva Lee. Miss Lee has the
distinction of being the first child
born in Helen since the town was
started.
Work is being rushed on Mitch¬
ell Park Drive, in Helen. This
drive, when completed, will be one
of the most beautiful drives in the
South.
Engineers in charge of the de¬
velopment work on the new, free
dirt road connecting Robertstown
and Uuion county, by the way of
Low Gap, report good progress on
the same; The greatest grade
on the White county side of the
road is eight per cent, while a good
part of the grade runs no more than
two or three per cent. It is hoped
that the road will be open for
travel by February ist.
The site of the Gainesville &
Northwestern depot at Roberts¬
town was staked off a few days
ago, and work on the same
will commence at once. The
bridge building crew in hard at
.work on the last bridge on the
Gainesville & Northwestern, and
everybody is* listening for the sound
of approaching trains.
