ing entering the race for sheriff. He
has been strongly solicited and, as
Teddy Roosevelt said, it looks like
his “hat is in the ring.” Mr. Dor¬
sey is the first man we have heard
of expressing himself as a probable
candidate, and we take pleasure m
saying that if he runs and is elected
that we see no reason why he
should not make a competent
sheriff.

boys making greatest yield on up¬
land and five boys making greatest
yield on bottom land will be the

Arrangements were made last
Saturday to pay the teachers of the
County for the first month this
year. Teachers will not he com¬

year but the Board will borrow
from some Bank and pay prompt¬
ly.
It is the plan of the Board to en¬
deavor to compensate the teachers
better hereafter than has been done
before, and it is expected that effi¬
cient service be rendered by those
employed in our schools. The fol¬
lowing resolution was passed by the
Board at the last meeting; “Beit
resolved by the Board of Education
that we will not employ any teach¬
ers to leach in the common schools
of this county for 1915 except, those
who hold licenses of the first or
second grade. So, it is adviseable
for each teacher who expects to
take the State Examination in June
and teach in this county to be pre¬
pared to make at least a Second
Grade License;—--'
