The Jury Revisers for White
county, namely, J. B. King, B. J.
Beach, W. A. Stover, J. D. Cooley
and James (ilen finished their work
last week. They had intended to
meet the first Monday in August,
but their meeting then was post¬
poned because of the illness of the
late J. W. Johnson who was a
member of that body.
Mr. Alex. Church, of Atlanta, is
enjoying a visit to relatives and
acquaintances of long ago in While
county. He launched the first
newspaper ever published in White
county, moving to Clarkesville at
the time the Tallulah Falls railroad
was built, where he remained until
n few years ago when he retired
from business and moved to Atlan¬
ta that he might enjoy the com¬
pany of his sons who reside there.
Mr. Willie Warwick, who has
been in Athens for some months,
has returned home.
Mr. and Mrs. Boone, of Atlanta,
who have been at the Yonah House
during the summer months, have
returned home.
The Masonic Hall building is un¬
dergoing some improvements by
carpenters, and the painters are
giving it a few coats of paint to
preserve it against the sunshine and
the upin and make it more attrac¬
tive to the eye.

Mr. Roy Burk was fined $7. and
cost in the mayor’s court Wednes¬
day for boozing in the town of

Mr. A. L. Edwards has just re¬
turned from a visit to Mr. A. B.
Stovall, of Pinelog,Bartow county.
He reports that crops are fine in
that part of the statd> and that
eveything seems bright and pros¬
perous.
Mrs. J. R. Merritt, who has had
pelagra for some time, died at her
home near the foot of the Yonah
mountain Tuesday, her remains be¬
ing laid to rest in Cleveland ceme¬
tery Wednesday afternoon. The
relatives of the deceased have our
sincere sympathy in theii loss.

The relutives and many friends
here of Mrs. John J. Kimsey, of
Cornelia, are glad to learn that her
condition, which has been serious,
is somewhat improved.
Mr. John Freeman, of Maryville
Tenn., is in White county on a
visit to relatives.
Mr. Joe Stover, who was injur¬
ed in a motorcycle accident some
months ago near Savannah where
he has resided for many years, and
in which he came near losing his
iife, has arrived at the home of his
father on Siioal Creek.

Dr. Kimsey was called to the
residence of Mr. Henry Turner
Tuesday to render medical assist¬
ance to one of Mr. Turner’s sons
who had been bitten Jjy a pilot.
Rev. J. T. Kendall, of the Bap¬
tist Mission Board, will preach at
Blue Creek Baptist Church the first
Sunday in September at 11 o’clock
a.m. He will also preach at Cleve¬
land the same date at 8 o’clock,
p. m.
White Creek News.
Rev, W. R. Power and others
has been conducting a good pro¬
tracted services at White Creek for
the past week with 11 additianal to
the church, the baptizing will be
the fourth Sunday in Sept, at 9
o’clock, at Cooley’s mill or Crain’s
new mill pound.
Their will be a baptizing a Skitt
mountain the First Sunday inSept.
at 9 o’clock
There will be a all day singing
the Second Sunday in Sept., at
White Creek.
Mr. Joe Curtis visit relatives in
this part last week.
Mrs. Onnie Davis, of Hoschton,
is spending a few days with her
father-in-law, Mr. J. H. Glaze and
family.
Mr. Mell Dean Jr. and family
spent Saturday and Sunday with

Loudsville Lines.
Loudsville Camp-meeting came
to a close Monday morning with
the largest and best attendance that
they ever had and the best conduct
vvitli the largest addition to the
church something like 50 new
members.
Mr. and Mrs. R. A. Ledford, of
Decatur, attended campmeeting.
Mr. J. II. Porter and son, of
Lake City Fla., has been visiting
relatives here for some time.
Mrs. J. II. Haynes spent some
few days here last week here with
relatives.
We are sorry state that Mr.
J. L. Hood is quite sick at the pre¬
sent time.
Mr. Tom Allen and MarionWin
kler came last week on a visit to
relatives.

N. C. Conley got lost in another
man’s overalls the other day while
sowing some turnip seed.
Mr. B. M. Cox had the misfor¬
tune of loosing a fine ax Monday
night.
We visited our dear sister, Mrs.
J. G. Thomas last Sunday.
Mr. Chas. Allen wife and child¬
ren visited friends and relatives in
this section last week.

The election is now over and
times are quiet in this part. We
lost only one vote and the world
will move on just the same. We
learned in this election that men do
not always do what they say they
will. We notice some little things
as we pass along.
Revs. Minor and Ridley have
jufft closed a revival meeting at
Macedonia which resulted in eight
accessions to the church, and much
good has been accomplished.
Mrs. Jane Forester, after taking
a month’s visit with her cousin,Mr.
Will Forefter, of South Carolina,
returned home Sunday in at auto.

Mr. J. D. and W. H. Alexander
after spending a few days visiting
relatives here have returned to their

The quarterly meeting at Mace¬
donia last Thursday was largely at¬
tended, Presiding Elder Rev.Ham¬
mond conducting the services. He
delivered a fine sermon.
Mr. and Mrs. Tom Alexander
desire to return their thanks and
appreciation to Judge S. L. Brown
for the noble work that h'e has had
done in the Cleveland cemetery by
cleaning off the graves of Mrs,
Alexander’s father, mother, broth¬
ers and sisters graves. Since Mr.
Brown refused pay for his services
he has proven well his loyalty to
his friends. Everybody knows
that Mr. Brown is a big-hearted
man.

To the qualified voters of Cleveland
School District:
Notice is hereby given that on the 22ml
day of September, 1914, an election will
be held at the court-house in Cleveland
School District, at which will he sub¬
mitted to the qualified voters of said dis¬
trict, for their determination, the ques¬
tion whether bonds shall be issued by
said school district, in the aggregate
amount of Ten Thousand (*10,000,1 dol¬
lars, which shall he applied to the pur¬
pose of building arid equipping a school
house for said school district: said bonds
to hear date the 1st day of January, 1915;
to bear interest at the rate of five (5) per
centum per annum, payable annually on
the 1st day of January in each year; to
be in denominations of Pour Hundred
($400.00) dollars each, and the principal
thereof to he payable as. follows: In
twenty-four annual payments of Four
Hundred ($400.00) dollars each; all bonds
to he fully paid off the 1st day of January
1940.
Those desiring to vote in favor of the
issue of bonds will do so by casting bal¬
lotshaving written or print <1 on them
the words, “For School House”; those)
desiring to vote against the issue of Ba id
bonds will do so by casting ballots hav¬
ing written or printed on them the words
‘‘Against School Mouse.”
