Flaming Baked Alaska Is Easy To Make
Fiery Baked Alaska is exciting enough for the most festive
occasions, yet it’s easy to make. According to Secondo Sanchioli,
chef at the world-famous Sardi’a Restaurant, the secret of success
in preparing flaming desserts is

This plan for aone-floor house
with full basement has many
attractive points to offer for a
small house.
The main entry with slate
floor gives ready access to any
room without passing through
another.
The kitchen with adjoining
family room is a convenient “U”
shape. The sink is beneath win¬
dows facing the yard for good
supervision of youngsters built in at
play. There is a oven
and cooking top. dining
The family room or
area is part of the kitchen which
is ideal for family conversation
and supervision during meal pre¬
paration. This family room has
a large closet for game storage
or hobby equipment. There is
also a large storage closet over
the bulkhead of the stairway to
the basement which has access
to the attic as well.
The living room is away from
traffic and can be closed from
the family room by the use of
folding doors as desired. It has
floor length windows at the
front. The sliding glass doors
at the rear could lead to a ter¬
race. A long unbroken wall pro¬
vides for good furniture arrange*
ment. The ceilings in the living
room and family room slope
with the roof making an attrac¬ illumi¬
tive ceiling treatment
nated from built in valances.
By throwing light against the
ceiling, as well as down over the
curtains and draperies, the val¬
ances give good general illumi¬
nation and make the room seem
larger while creating a daylight
effect. Brightness of the light
can be adjusted from a candle
glow to full on with a built in
Luxtrol light control, a new dial
system that takes the place of
ordinary on-off-switches.
General lighting in the bed¬
rooms and den also comes from
window valances which are Lux¬
trol controlled.
There are three bedrooms, one
of which can be used as a com¬
bination study bedroom. This
room has folding louvered doors
separating it from the hall. All
three bedrooms have built in
chests with mirrors above and
good closet storage.
There are two full baths sep¬
arating the bedrooms, one has
a tub and the other a shower.
One could be used as the master
bath and the other as a powder
room guest bath.
The basement is arranged so
that the laundry and heating
equipment are to one side leav¬
ing a large free area for a rec¬
reation or hobby room.

. Beauty Dividends Prom Your Bath
you take a bath just to make
yourself clean? A laudable pur¬
pose, to be sure, but we'd like to
make a few suggestions that will
turn your bath into a beauty rit¬
ual. With a bar of pink Praise,
rich in cold cream, milder than
any soap, take the luxurious bath
route by —
— Doing an all-in-one. As you
lie in your tub, give yourself a
series of facials — one on your
face, another on your neck, a
third on your hands. Coat with
lather, and massage with your
fingers or with your brushes — a
soft-bristled complexion brush
for face and neck, a stiff-bristled
brush for hands, a long-handled
brush for your back. J.
— Shaking a leg — aru.1 an arm,
too, right there in the tub. In
other words, s-t-r-e-t-c-h for ex¬
tra suppleness. Stretch each leg,
curl your toes, rotate each foot.
Stretch each arm, high above
your head. Repeat several times.

THE THINGS OUR TAXES BUY
THE $26 Va MILLION tax bill of the Georgia
Power Company for 1958 helped to pay for
a lot of things: schools for your children,
streets and highways to ride on, police pro¬
tection for your family, fire protection for
your home. It helped to support health pro¬
grams, national defense and many other
government functions.
Twenty cents of every dollar we receive
in payment for electric service goes for local,
state and federal taxes.
In fact, tax payments represent the largest
single item of expense. Last year our tax
bill was 30 per cent more than our operating
payroll. It was nearly 2 [C times the amount
paid in dividends and interest to the thou¬
sands of people who own the Company’s
bonds and preferred stock.
Since these tax payments help to meet the
cost of government, you benefit from them,
along with every other citizen of Georgia.

A CITIZEN WHEREVER WE SERVE
—Beautifying where you usu¬
ally don’t—your elbows and feet.
Put extra minutes of massage
into your elbows. They deserve an
extra chance at smoothness. Mas
sage each foot, holding it in both
hands and -working rich lather
into it all over.
— Being a perfect blank—just
for a while, of course. If you
want to imbibe all the beauty your
bath has to offer you, don’t fight
the treatment by keeping the
day’s tangled thoughts inside you.
Be a cipher for a few minutes —
and feel the lines leave your skin
while softness creeps into it.
You’ll get added satisfaction
from using pink Praise because
it contains a gentle germ remov¬
er, more effective than any on
the market against bacteria that
cause blemishes and bed odor.
Another bonus: it doesn’t leave a
bathtub ring.
Why don’t you try to collect the
beauty dividends your bath_can
give you? .
