Couples take
seven-day cruise
Sherley and Tom Cooper and
Joyce and Kermit Mock were
guests aboard the large cruise
ship Carnival Glory for a
seven-day trip to the Western
Caribbean, beginning Satur
day, Dec. 13, and sailing from
Port Canaveral, Fla. Ports of
call that were visited include
Cozumel, Mexico; Belize City,
Belize (Central America);
Costa Maya, Mexico; and
Nassau, Bahamas. In Belize,
both couples joined an escorted
tour to the ancient Mayan
Temple ruins at Altun Ha, lo
cated in central Belize, which
dates back to (circa) 300 B.C.
The elegant cruise ship of
fered exquisite formal dining
each evening, Broadway-style
floor shows each evening after
dinner, and total relaxation
lounging around the pools on
the open air decks during the
two days of travel time to Cen
tral America on the open sea of
the Gulf of Mexico. Each port
of call was an exciting adven
ture including different cultures
and customs and meeting
people from other countries.
Shopping was also an adven
ture, with native crafts and
handiwork of every kind avail
able. A long visit to the Straw
Market in Nassau was an ab
solute must, to purchase the
“required” T-shirts for their
grandchildren, as well as other
souvenirs for family and
friends.

Barrow makes appointments
Is Your Child
Congressman John Barrow
(GA-12 ) recently announced his
subcommittee appointments on
the House Energy and Com

Congress. Barrow will serve on
the Subcommittee on Health,
the Subcommittee on Energy
and the Environment, and the
Subcommittee on Commerce,
Trade and Consumer Protection.
“These are probably the three
most important subcommittees
in the House, with jurisdiction
over health care, energy, and
consumer protection,” said
Barrow. ’’The costs of
healthcare and energy are out of
control, and they’re pulling too
many Georgia families
under. These subcommittees are
the most important place to be
for me to do something to help.”
