Elementary students train for Super Eagle
These Jenkins County Elementary students are running to prepare for the 6th Annual Super Eagle Day 5K and 1
mile fun run/walk at the Jenkins County Courthouse Saturday, March 14. The 1 mile run/walk will begin at 8:15
am. The 5K will begin at 9 a.m. Parents and family members are encouraged to attend and support their kids.
“We are trying to promote healthier lifestyles and encourage more young folks to get outside and walk, jog, or run
for better overall health. The benefits of exercise are proven to improve overall circulatory and cardiovascular

Sunday, Feb. 1, Nell Thomas of Millen recorded her first hole-
in-one at Magnolia Country Club.
Mrs. Thomas scored her hole-in-one on Number 4. 120 yards,
par 3. Playing with her witnessing the feat were Pete Thomas
and Wayne and June Cowart. Club Manager Tim Frawley stated
that a hole-in-one is one of the rarest shots in golf.
“It is a perfect shot,” he said, issuing congratulations to Mrs.
Thomas.
