The outdoor ceremony will take place at the home of the bride’s parents, 6307 Williams Road, Statesboro, at 6 p.m. on Saturday March 14. In the event of inclimate weather, the ceremony will take place at Friendship Baptist Church, with the reception following at the home of the bride’s parents. No local invitations are being sent. All friends and relatives are invited to attend. Mr. Davis to marry Miss Wilson Albert and Barbara Davis of Millen announce the engagement and forthcoming marriage of their son, Bradley Phillip Davis, to Ruth Marie Wilson. Ruth is the daughter of William and Carol Wilson of Carrollton, Ohio. The wedding will be held 4 p.m. Saturday, March 21,2009 at the Jesup Church of God in Jesup, Ga. Family and friends are cor dially invited. Bradley Phillip Davis and Ruth Marie Wilson STC instructor recognized for service Swainsboro Technical College’s (STC) Annette Merier, adult education instructor, was recently recognized at a College Board meeting for her five years of service and continued dedication to STC. Kenny Griffin, STC board chair, shown at right, presented her with a service award check from The Greater Swainsboro Technical College Foundation. Merier was born and raised in Emanuel County. She gradu ated from Emanuel County In stitute and then from Georgia Southern University with a bachelor of science in Educa tion. She taught school at David Emanuel Academy and Swainsboro High School before coming to STC. From Decem ber 2003 through June 2007 she taught at STC’s Jenkins County Center. Since July 2007, she has taught at the main campus in Swainsboro. She is a member of Elam Baptist Church in Jenkins County, where she is one of the teachers in the third through fifth grade group on Wednesday nights. She is married to Ivan Merier, and they have two boys, Ethan, 7, and Conner, 3. This clinic was open to cheerleaders who are interested in trying out for the University of Georgia. These girls were able to learn cheers, dances and stunts with UGA cheerleaders.
