military career in U.S. Air Force

Captain Donald S. Burke, son of
Lynn Burke and the late Herbert
Burke of Millen,
has a distin
guished military
record.
He has served
for over 23 years
in the U. S. Air
Force having led
and participated
in a variety of assignments. In his
first assignment as an office, Lt.
Burke led 48 officers, enlisted and
civilian personnel directing mobi
lization efforts for the U.S. Air
Force's only Combat Search and
Rescue Wing for exercise and con
tingency operations. Captain Burke
was then assigned to the Air Mo
bility Command’s primary west
coast aerial port, supporting seven
major commands, Department of
Homeland Defense and all depart
ments of defense services as the
Combat Readiness and Resources
Flight Commander for the 60 th
Aerial Port Squadron.
Captain Burke was then assigned
as the Commander of the Aerial
Port Flight for the 573 rd Global
Support Squadron where he super
vised scheduled and equipped 104
aerial port personnel to maintain a
12-hour alert posture to expand the
AMC’s en route structure.
Captain Burke currently serves
as the Commander, Det 1 735 th Air
Mobility Support Squadron at
Richmond RAAF, Australia. He is
the only active duty mobility of
ficer in Australia representing the
U.S. Air Force.

Sealed Proposals from General Con
tractors for the construction of
"Courthouse Renovation for Jenkins
County Commission, Millen, Georgia”,
will be received by the OWNER, Jen
kins County Commission, at the office
of the OWNER, Jenkins County Com
mission, 5266 Hwy 25 South, Millen,
Georgia 30442
Proposals must be in the custody of
the Architect no later than 3:00 P.M.,
on:
Tuesday June 9th 2009
at which time Proposals will be opened
and read aloud. No extension of the bid
ding period is anticipated.
Bids must be filed on Form C
(Section C “Proposal Form”), three (3)
copies of which will be forwarded to all
Contractors on or about ten (10) days
prior to bid date. Proposal Forms must
be accompanied by a Bid Bond in an
amount not less than five (5%) percent
of the Base Bid. Both Performance and
Payment Bond will be required in an
amount equal to one hundred (100%)
percent of the contract price.
Contract, if awarded, will be estab
lished on a lump sum basis. No bid may
be withdrawn for a period of thirty-five
(35) days following the bid date. The
Owner reserves the right to reject any
and all bids and to waive all technical
ities and informalities.
Complete bidding documents may
be obtained at the office of the Archi
tect, MARTIN, RULE AND ASSO
CIATES, ARCHITECTS, LLC, 12A
