The Millen News, Wednesday, July 15, 2009 — Page 3 People in the News Birth Cauley rededicates Wayside Home Memorial Boulder After the recent rededication of the Wayside Home Confeder ate Monument, Margaret Jones Chapter No. 27 President Mrs. Thomas Cauley, right, rededicated the Wayside Home Memorial Boulder on the Courthouse Square. In 1925 this Memorial Boul der was jointly placed by the Wayside Home Chapter UDC of Jenkins County and the Margaret Jones Chapter UDC of Burke County, to perpetuate the name of the Wayside Home and as a memorial to the women who served there with compassion, valor, and patriotism. Amerson and Tara Moore proudly announce the birth of their daughter, Kelsey Leigh Amerson, June 24, 2009. The infant weighed 6 lbs. 15 oz. and was 20% inches long. Grandparents are Ollie Moore Jr., Karla Gay, Rebun Jr. and Barbara Amerson and Wendy Kitchens. Great-grandparents are Catherine Amerson and the late Rebun Amerson Sr., Linda Green, Jackie Moore and the late Ollie Moore Sr., and Benny Earl and Helen Williamson. C.J. is stationed at Camp Hood, Texas. (Photo contributed) Green Fork youth visits Atlanta Green Fork Baptist Church youth, Teens for Christ, recently took a road trip to Atlanta where they visited the Georgia Aquarium and the World of Coca Cola. The youth were fascinated with the sights of marine life and the magnitude of the new aquarium. The World of Coca Cola was quite entertaining with exhibits displaying from the past to the present. The youth enjoyed sampling a variety of Coke products from all over the world. Their favorite was “Beverly”. The highlight was Sunday morning’s worship service at Eagle’s Landing First Baptist Church of McDonough. The youth partici pated in the praise and worship enriched by Casting Crowns. It was arranged before the trip for the teens to meet the lead singer, Mark Hall. The Green Fork youth were given a special welcome in the morning service by Pastor Steve. The youth expressed appreciation to the Green Fork church family for its support and invite any youth who does not have a church home to be a part of the Teens for Christ at Green Fork Baptist Church.
