The Millen News, Wednesday, September 9, 2009 — Page 3 Eagles outlast Panthers By Tres Bragg tresbragg@bellsouth.net The Jenkins County Eagles took out their frustration from a season opening loss on Portal this past Friday. The Eagles, 1-1, defeated the Panthers, 13-8 and captured their first win of the season. Although the Eagles failed to put any points on the scoreboard during the second, third and fourth quarters, their two touchdowns in the first quarter sealed the game. Quarterback Will Brinson completed a 64-yard touchdown pass to Jay Bowers, giving the Eagles an early lead. Dondre DeJesus followed with a 3-yard rush up the middle for a touch down, widening their lead.
