Library News
By Sharon Blank
Christmas is coming, and that
means the library will be clos
ing. Make sure to come in be
fore Christmas Eve day for your
holiday reading, because the li
brary will be closed from
Thursday, Dec. 24 until Tues
day, Dec. 29, for the Christmas
holiday.
But just because the library
is closed doesn’t mean that your
child can’t listen to a good
story! Dial-A-Story is always
ready to read a cute little story
over the phone for your child
for free, 24 hours a day and 7
days a week. Just call (478)
982-5898 and enjoy stories like
“A Visit to Santa Claus Land”
and “Snowball’s Christmas
Eve”.
This Wednesday, Dec. 16, we
will have a great surprise
Storytime at 4 p.m. It will be
the last Story time of the year,
so don’t miss it!
You have only two more days
to help the Friends of the
Jenkins County Memorial Li
brary (and score some great
desserts) by bidding on some of
the fantastic baked goods in the
“Just Desserts” silent auction
being held at the library. The
bidding closes on Friday, Dec.
18, so come into the library
soon!
Looking for a great gift for
the reader in your life? We have

FUNERAL HOME
& CREMATORY
locally owned and operated
220 E. 6th Street • Waynesboro, GA 30830
706-554-7999 • www.joineranderson.com
We accept transfers from
any other funeral home.
Over the past decade, many funeral homes
in the area have changed ownership and
the way they are operated.
However, we are committed to remaining
locally and family-owned. Part of that
commitment is helping families who may
wish to transfer their prearrangements from
another funeral home to ours. Our experience
has shown that when families transfer their
prearrangements to us from another funeral
home, many times they will see a substantial
savings in funeral costs.
Call us at any time if you have questions
about costs, transferring your arrangements
from another funeral home, or if we
can be of assistance in any way.
We consider it a privilege.
