AN ELECTION ON NOVEMBER 6, 2012,
TO CONSIDER PACKAGE SALES OF
MALT BEVERAGES AND WINE ON
SUNDAYS BETWEEN THE HOURS OF
12:30 P.M. AND 11:30 P.M.
Notice is hereby given by the Mayor and
Council of the City of Millen, Georgia, and by
the Judges of the Probate Court of Jenkins
County, as the election superintendent for
Jenkins County and the City of Millen, that on
Novemer 6, 2012, an election will be held in
the City of Millen to submit to the qualified
voters of the City the following question:
Shall the governing authority of the City of
Millen, Georgia, be authorized to permit and
regulate package sales by retailers of malt
beverages and wine on Sundays between the
hours of 12:30 p.m. and 11:30 p.m.?

No
All qualified voters desiring to vote in favor of
the question propounded shall vote “yes” and
all qualified voters desiring to vote in
opposition to the question propounded shall
vote “no.”
Approval of the question shall constitute
authorization for the Mayor and Council to
authorize and regulate package sales by
retailers of malt beverages and win on
Sundays between the hours of 12:30 p.m. and
11:30 p.m.
The election shall be held in accordance with
applicable law by the same persons, in the
same manner, and under the same rules and
regulations that elections for Mayor and
members of the Council of the City are held.
The last day to register to vote in the election
is Monday, Oct. 8, 2012. Anyone desiring to
register may do so by applying in person at
the voter registration office located at the
Jenkins County Courthouse, Millen, Georgia,
or by any other method authorized by the
Georgia Election Code.
The polls will be open from 7:00 a.m. until
7:00 p.m. on the election day, Tuesday,
November 6, 2012.
