at the NJVFD Christmas party with the FireFighter of the
Year award. Dickey is also President of the NJVFD Board.
He has 39 years of firefighting experience and 6 years on
the NJVFD. “This award means a lot to me, not only does it
honor the service I have put in, it also came from my peers
and I thank them for the honor,” Dickey explained. Eddie

local stores. Eddie and Machelle have three children and
two grandchildren.
Park volunteers honored
with dinner
Magnolia Springs State Park recently hosted a Christmas dinner
for members of the Friends of Magnolia Springs State Park
and the Buckhead-Fort Lawton Brigade in appreciation of their
volunteer support of park activities.
The festive event included great fellowship, delicious homemade
dishes, and an Ugly Christmas Sweater Contest. Park personnel
work tirelessly to provide a positive family experience that
benefits both our local community and tourism industry.
Volunteering is one way we can all do our part to help.
