It is just simply wonderful how the South has grewn since the war. Give the democratic party a chance. Don't censure them so soon Remember they haven’t had time to accomplish much good yet. on'y to get some of the Republican officchol ilers out. The Peidraont Republican says Atlanta has another sensation and among the high flyers as usual. Vf ell you see the high ftyers> have hothing else to do but to create a sensation. If some one don’t come into this county this summer with capitoland establish a cunning factory, our citi¬ zens are going to organize a stock company and do it themselves. It is simply useless to let our fruits go 10 waste for the want of a market. Kindling wood is being manufac¬ tured at Rockmart and placed on the market for sale. This now will be some competition to the colored girls who stand on the streets in cit¬ ies with a bundle of pine on tlieir heads crying, ‘‘Kindling wood frr sale.” The industry of drying fruit by the evaporator process is one that can be conducted with very little capital. For a few dollars one out fit can be bought, and with the as sistance of several children can be successfully run. The evaporated fruit is prefered to on account of its bright color. You can leave Blue Ridge at 12 : 15 and arrive at Clucago 5:25 next evening, and see the Worlds Fair for ♦ 28 . 90 ., via Marietta & North Geor¬ gia R’y and Knoxville. Apply to any agent, or to W. B. Bradley, XSeneral Passenger and Ticket Agent, There is as much difference in the Northern and Southern negro, as there is in the whites and blacks here. The Northern negro has been taken away from the bulk of his people, and ig much better ed¬ ucated than the Southern darkey. The Northern people are very much wrong when they judge the South¬ ern negro by those ot the North. To all whom it n,ay concern. All the bids received on school building at Blue Ridge, Ga, will be opened Tuesday, July 4 th. 1893 at 8 o’clock a. m. Those expecting to submit bids, will p’ease take cognizance of this notice and have bids in by that time. w. C. Bolting, Chairman of BuildingConunittee. It is true it looks hard for the working men at Chicago to work all week and (then not-get to soothe sights of the fair on Sunday, but «his is not sufficient ground to dis¬ obey Gods w'ord, and go on fieedless ly.witbout recognizing the Sabbath day. There is a tendency to dis¬ regard the Sabbath all over our eountry|and especially in Chicago and the West where the population is becoming dense with infidels and irreligious foreigners. Little can be expected where the Sabbath is not recognized, and it is horrib’e to think of the blindness of the masses of our people. N-w lor The Picnic. After a lengthy discusion in Sun¬ day school, last Sunday the com¬ mittee reported very favorable for Laving a Union Sabbath school pic¬ nic, and Saturday July the 15 th is the day set. Blue Ridge is prepar¬ ing now for the occasion and it readily goes that we will have one of the grandest picnics ever given in Fannin county. Everybody from far and near are invited to come and receive os a token of our friendship, a hearty welcome. This will be a day set apart for enjoyment and genuine pleasure for all classes, and Hot one will be slighted. Well filled baskets and grub plenty is what it takes to make a picnic success, and this is what we are going to try to have. There is many in our county that have never seen Blue Ridge, the busy little vail road town, and oir that day we ask }OU to coins as a guest . of t the coming town /vf f tl 4 i in e *10 until ins- On this snbieci, more VELVET TRAIN.
