Mr, Editor :
I see Uncle ‘Bije is out
in an “explanation,” but the trouble
is, Uncle Bije’s explanation doesn’t
explain—at any rate, he doesn’t
answer “Citizen’s ’ charges. He
couldu’t do this, without jmt
pleading guilty, and throwing him
self on the mercy of the court.
This he should have done.
Say, isn’t it funny, after all Un
cle Bije’s cavorting against “town
taxation, working the roads with
improved machinery,” etc, t >at he
and his lieutenants, ‘way up in the
good old 14th district, (the district
wherein abides that clever pair of
celebrated beauties, G. H. and W.
B.) we'e the first and tnly folks
to come cavorting to the Ordinary
asking for improved machinery to
work their roads over toward
Gainesville. ludge Jones didn’t
do a ‘ting to ’em, except to say,
“Nay, my boys; road machinery
comes under the Alternative Road
System, only, and you know we
haven’t that now.” Well, send us
some of f ht* convicts, or convict
money. “No, by George! we
haven’t any Under the Grand
Jury’s recommendation, I have
given (or lo tried) the convicts to
another county.” Well, we will
see Uncle ‘B jo, and have him get
them at Gainesville. Don’t care,
no how. “United we fall; divid
ed we stand !”
Get your old mattock aud hoe ; and
we will work 1 he roads by the “Al
ternative Perspirety” system. Just
like we “woiked” em 40 years ago.
Our “daddies” plowed with a wood
en plowstock. and * worked’ the
roads with a -hovel und hoe. We
will do likewise Good roads?
Course we will have good roads.
Haven’t we "ad ‘em for 40 years
under the “Alternative perspirety”
system ?

Better Not Get
Dyspepsia
If you can help it Kodol prevents Dyspepsia, by
effectually helping Nature to Relieve Indigestion.
But don’t trifle with Indigestion.
A great many people who have
trifled with Indigestion, have been
sorry for It—when nervous or
chronic dyspepsia resulted, and
they have not been able to cure it.
Use Kodol and prevent having
Dyspepsia.
Everyone is subject to indiges
tion. Stomach derangement follows
stomach abuse, just as naturally
and just as surely as a sound and
healthy stomach results upon the
taking of Kodol.
When you experience sourness
of stomach, belching of gas and
nauseating fluid, bloated sensation,
gnawing pain in the pit of the
stomach, heart burn (so-called),
diarrhoea, headaches, dullness or
chronic tired feeling—you need Ko
dol. And then the quicker you take
Kodol—the better. Eat what you
want, let Kodol digest it.
Ordinary pepsin “dyspepsia tab
lets,” physics, etc., are not likely
to be of much benefit to you, in
digestive ailments. Pepsin is only

There is good prospect that all over in
England the government will establish
clearing houses for the unemployed. Not
unoften while in some sections there is a
s -rious congestion of idle workmen who
are a serious burden to upon the taxes,
there may in other localities be a demand
for labor. It is expected that clearing
houses established in the great centers ot
population will relieve the congestion at
given points by forwarding men to the
places where labor is in demand.
This is the most dangerous time
of the year to catch cold, and it is
the hardest time to cure it. If you
should take a cold, a few doses of
Kennedy’s Laxative Cough Syrup
will act very promptly. Its laxa
tive principle cures the cold by
driving it from the system by a
gentle but natur il action ot the
bowels. Childreu especially like

Kodol is a perfect digester. If
you could see Kodol digesting every
particle of food, of all kinds, in the
glass test-tubes in our laboratories,
you would know this just as well

Nature and Kodol will always
cure a sick stomach—but in order
to be cured, the stomach must rest.
That is what Kodol does—re3ts the
stomach, while the stomach gets
well. Just as simple as A, B, C.

The Balkans are the political volcanic
region of Europe and all the winter a
feeling of disquietude has prevailed be
cause of the more than possibility that
Servia or some other country in that re
gion would plunge heedlessly into war.
Perhaps more treaties have been made
and more treaties broken over the Balkin
question than over any other within the
last one hundred years. It now looks as
if the tension would be relieved and
peace assured to that distracted region.
If so all Europe will breathe more freely,
