Puett left Tues day for Gainesville to attend the annual meeting of the Presidential Postmasters of Georgia, and of the National Association of Postmas ters of the Second and Third Class, which convene in the City ot Gainesville, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday of this week. Post master Puett is Vice-President of the Georgia Association. It is to be a notable gathering. Postmas ters from every State in the Union are expected to be present, and Gainesville has ipade preparations to entertain them royally. Miss Julia Merritt, of route 4, vis ited Mr and Mrs C W White last week. Mr and Mrs T F Vaughan spent one day last week with Mr and Mrs R W Echols. Mr and Mrs T B Fowler visited in Gwinnett one day last week, the guests of T H Brown and family. A Mr Pounder died at his home near here Thursday night of tuber culosis. Mr N A Fowler, of Buford, route 3, spent Saturday with his parents, Mr and Mrs W C Fowler. 1 Some attended tbe Sunday school celebration at Sharon Saturday. Mrs Cled Vaughan spent a few days last week with her father, Mr J T Merritt. Mr E C Morgan and son, Guy, visited in Gainesville Monday. It seems as if everybody was go ing to marry around here. Mr E C Morgan has bis new store house near completion. Married, Sunday last, Mr Claud Fowler and Miss Bessie Sargent. Also Mr Babe Gage and Mr Della Hansard. We wish the couples much happiness. Mr and Mrs Homes Green spent Sunday night .with the latter’s par ents, Mr and Mrs A H Majors. We think we can write another wedding before long. Wishing the Georgian much success, I am Blackeyes. A large crowd was present and all seemed to enjoy the exer cises fina. Hughes & Thomas are putting in a suction and will be ready to gin in a few days. Harrison & Cos are also about ready to gin. After dinner we were entertained by the children, then our noble teacher gave the children a good talk, then came the treat and good byes. Miss Eula Allen spent Saturday night with her uncle, Mr Wm Al len, Jr., and family. Mr George Mathis and daughter, Mrs Faunie Self, spent Thursday night with Mr Wm Vaughan. Mrs F E Echols is spending a while with her son, Mr George -Mathis, and family, of Cherokee county. Mr and Mrs Raleigh Bagley spent a few days of last week with the latter's parents, Mr and Mrs G W Bagwell. Mr Byron Couch spent Satuiday and Sunday at Mr J S Echols’. The celebration at Sharon Sat urday was well attended. Mr Fred Vaughan spent Satur day night and Sunday with his cousin. Mr Guy Echols, of Nettie. Mrs A D Pettijohn spent Sunday afternoon with Mrs Mary Hartis. Several of the youag men took in the. entertalr.m®4 at Bacon’? school house Saturday night. We will soon have to gather our baskets and pick-sacks and start to cotton patch. Several from around here took in the lecture delivered at Shelton ville Friday night by Bro Will D Upshaw. Mrs W L Comer and Miss Fan nie Harris visited Dr and Mrs O T Harris, of Ocee, Monday, Mr and Mrs John Grice spent one night last week with Mr and Mrs J E Brooks. Best wishes to all. Maude Muller. Miss Florence Smith, of Coal Mountain, visited her parents Mr and T A Treadaway one uight’last week. Miss Estelle Wheeler was the guest of Miss Nanoie Hansard Sun day. People will talk in spite of eye teeth, as the old saying is, if yoo help in the Sunday school they will talk, if you don’t they will talk, if you sing they wiil talk about it, if you don’t sing they will talk, so it makes no difference what you do they will talk, so I have decided to do as I please and suy what I please just so I do and say the right thing, just let them talk, for they will talk any way. Miss Mary Redd, of Chatta hoochee, who has been on an ex tended visit to relatives in and around hare, baa returned home. Mr and Mrs Clarence Buice spent Saturday night and Sunday near Itley the guest of Mr and Mrs. Earnest Terry also taking in the entertainment at Bacon’s school house. Mrs G T Settle left Monday for an extended visit to relatives and friends in Atlanta and East Point. Mr S R Settle ot Atlanta spent Saturday night and Sunday the guest of his father Mr W R Settle spending Sunday night and Mon day with Mr J D Buice and fami ly, returning home Monday night accumpanied by Masters Rogers and Robert Goldsmith of Atlanta, School closed at the Settle school house Friday last. fcMrs Carrie Settle, of Atlanta, is on an extended visit to relatives and friends here.
