A town never loses anything

to every deserving stranger

sound? Read the card of Jno.

A superstitious subscriber,

A girl graduate thus de
scribed the manner in which
a goat butted a boy out of the
yard : He hurled the previous
end of his anatomy against the
boy’s afterwards with earnest
ness and velocity which, back
ed by the ponderosity of the
goat’s avoirdupois, imparted a
momentum that was not re
laxed until he had landed on
terra firma beyond the pale of
the goat’s jurisdiction.

A wise conducted newspa
per is like a banquet, says an
exchange. Everything is
served up with a view to va
riety. Help yourself to what
you want and do not con
demn the entire spread be
cause pickles and onions may
be included. If you do not
relish them somebody else
may find them palatable. Be
generous and broad enough to
select gracefully such reading
matter from newspapers as
will be agreeable to your taste
You, as an individual, are not
compelled to swallow every
thing. We do not all think
alike on every subject and it is
a good thing, as it makes more
variety, and variety is the spice
of existence.

Talk about the advantages
of your town instead of trying
to figure up the disadvantages.
Speak of the bright side of
your business in place of the
imaginary dull side. There is
nothing goes without being
propelled. You injure your
self, your business and your
town by getting into the
dumps. When your liver is out
of order go to the woods or
some other hiding place until
you are better. The world
looks blue to a man with a bad
digestion. Cure yourself first
and then everything else will
appear all right.
