I will trp to make another round
The other correspondents have
got so far ahead of me that I
have about forgotten where to
enter.
The heaviest rain of the sea
son fell hereSaturdap about noon
accompanied by some hail. No
damage that we know of was
done, except the land was badly
washed. ■
If the rain continues a little
longer the farmers will bo fac
ing a crisis equal to that of 1926,
Some are chopping cotton,
while others are planting over.
If people would become as
much concerned about spiritual
things as they are about worldly
matters, and cerse to confuse
themselves over conditions that

change there would be in a short
time.

Germany manufactures and
sends to this country 200 talking
machine needles, of a superior
grade of steel, which retails for
15c? This country manufactures
the same amount, of no better
material and selling them here
at home for 20c. This is of course
a small item, but if the same rule
applies to larger things, any one
can see that it is not always the
most profitable to patronize home
enterprises.HDuring the we were
instructed to reject all goods
“made in Germuny,” This was
no doubt a scheme to help the
profiteers here at home.
We believe the chief object in
the organization of the Ku Klux
Klan is to eliminate the Catholic
element in this country. If we
are right in our belief, then our
warmest sympathy and kindest
regards are with the Klan.
It is reported that one Mr. Bai
ley recently killed one of the
coyotes that has been causing so
much consternation around here
for the past two years,
A rich man can work all sorts
of ways to swindle poor people
and is seldom punished for it,
and if a poor man commits some
offense he is promptly arrestea,
convicted and punished, while
perhaps his rich brother has com
mitted greater crimes and goes
free. Something wrong some
where.
Guess I better be going before
I get into the waste basket.

til preaching time and there was
n’t very many got there for the
morning service- But Bro J W
Gill preached a fine sermon from
Revelations. This good man is
surely trying to do everything in
his power for the upbilding of
God’s kingdom here. We believe
that if each member of Brook j

terest in the church that Bro Gill
does it surely would be a power.

We think Nathan Poole need

If we can spread dinner with
someone until blackberries get
here then they can take their old
chickens and beef and cakes and
go with it.
Bro Thomas asked us to say
something about the churches.
Brookwood church ha3 aiine Sun
day school, if the children would'
bring their parents. The church
was constituted in 1913 with
about 40 members. Now there
are more than 200, but you would
never guess there was half that
manp if you should happen there
at conference. At each meeting
you will see about the same ones
there each time, and yet God’s
word savs ye are the light of the
world and the salt of the earth.
