A Good Man Passes Away.
Uncle Joel Webb died at the
home of his daughter, Mrs. Trib
Shirley, near Ocee. Monday last.
He had been sick for more than
a year, and while his death was
not unexpected, it has caused
sadness in the hearts of all who
knew him. He was a little over
86 years old.
His remains were laid away
Tuesday, at Union Hill, the fun
eral services being conducted by
Revs. McConnell and Light.
Besides his wife Mr. Webbjis
survived by four children: Mrs.
Tribble Shirley, of Milton coun
ty, Mr. J. A. Webb, of Norcross,
Mr. M. W. Webb, of Cumming,
and Mrs. R, E. Hope, of Tifton,
Ga.
Truly, a good man has passed
away.

Mrs. Lollie Belle Pierce and
daughter, Virginia, of Lawndale,
N. C., spent a while with friends
in Cumming last week enroute to
Dallas, Ga,, where she has ac
cepted a position as teacher.

Mrs. JNix died at her home
on route 4 Thursday of last week
and the remains were laid to rest
at Coal Mountain Friday, funer
al being conducted by
Revs. Wallace and Mullinax. We
extend sympathy to the bereav
ed family.
Sunday’s papers carried the
announcement of the approach
ing marriage of Miss Mildred
Barrett and Mr. Ivan Otwell,
two of Cumming’s most popular
young people. The marriage will
be solemnized in the early fall.
Mr. Samuel R. Mcßrayer died
at his home near Spot Wednes
day of last week, and he was
buried Thursday at Zion Hill,
with Masonic honors. He was
88 years of age, and is survived
by his wife and several children,
besides large numbers of other
relatives, to whom the North
Georgian extends sympathy.
