J. M. Clarkson, of Duck Creek,
lost thirty-three twenty dollar gold
pieces some time last September.

Judge John W. Maddox and
family moved to Rome last Thurs
day. Theit friends here regretted
very much to see them go, feeling
that their departure was a loss to
t he community in many ways.
Last week J. R. Clemmons took
his little son, Tom, whose eye was
injured some time ago, to Chatta
nooga ! o have an experienced occu

We believe that the possession of

Alliance Meeting.

After a short sermon by Rev. J. J.
Allen, the ceremony of laying the
corner stone was gone through
with, after which short talks were
made by a number of others. The
best of order was observed and
everything passed off quietly.
'l'he North Georgia Medical
Association met at Summerville
Wednesday, of last week, and an
election of officers for the current
year was held with the following
result: R. Y. Rudicil, president;
Dr. Thornburg, Ist vice-president;
W. J. Bryant, 2nd vice-president;
J. W. Clement, treasurer, and Drs.
Jones and Hammond secretaries.
The next meeting wi'l be held in
LaFaycite, the first s?’>inesday in
February, and tin subject selected
for discussion is “Pneumonia.” A
full meeting is expected and
desired.

Last Saturday night a dog be
longing to Mack Agnew went to
Mr. J. T. Leslie’s and attacked a
dog belonging to the latter. He
was driven oil' without trouble, but
next morning he bit two of Mr. Ag
news children and a son of Jas. Mo
bley. Some time during the same
day he bit a number of dogs in the
vicinity and wasjfinaly killed near
New Moon, Ala., by Mr. Ed. Mitch
ell. It j.B feared that he is rabid
and that the wounds inflicted on,
Mr. Agnew’s and Mobley’s children
ma}’ result seriously.

The board of education met
Tuesday to examine the papers of
applicants for license who were ex

Commissioners last Thursday, and

Dirt was broken for the erection

Mr. William Kiser, a young man
about 30 years old, wholivedin Hall
county was to have been married

White, a handsome young widow of
the same county. On Christmas
morning, instead of making prepa
