LOCAL NEWS. Miss Fannie Agnew spent Sat urday with home folks at Menlo. Mr. ami Mrs. James Pursley of Trion spent Monday in town. Mr. and Mrs. S. S. Berry from Cherokee county. Ala., were here shopping Saturday. Rev. J. G. Hunt came up from Atlanta Monday and was the guest of Rev. B. F. Hunt Monday night. Mr. Eugene Taylor came up from Athens Saturday to visit home folks. J. S. Cleghorn, J. T. Jolly and L. 11. Lamb spent several days the past week in Chattanooga. Mr. J. R. Pittner and son came down from Chattanooga Saturday returning Monday. Miss Marian Steele of Lafayette was the attractive guest of Mrs. 0. A. Selman several days the past week. Mr. and Mrs. Win. Oldfield and daughter, Lorena, were guests of Mrs. T. P. Taylor Saturday and Sunday. Miss Fay Taylor returned to Rome Monday after spending sev eral days with her parents, Col. and Mrs. John D. Taylor. Mr. Fred Edmondson came up from Atlanta Saturday on a visit to his parents, Mr. and Mrs. B. 11. Edmondson. W. M. Johnson has leased the Summerville Bottling Works and will have charge of the plant dur ing the present season.
