Ransom, and Miss Rost Wyatt of Menlo, were in town Tues day. Mr. W. E. Cooper has been quite ill with typhoid fever during the past week. Mr. and Mrs. T. P. Henry have re turned from a week's visit to rela tives in Walker and Catoosa counties. Prof, and Mrs. W. E. Mitchell, of Lafayette, are the guests of Rev. and Mrs. J. O. Brand this week. Mrs. Arnold Tompkins and Mrs. Orman, of Menlo, were visiting friends in Summerville Tuesday. Hon. Gordon Lee came down from Chickamauga Saturday to attend the barbecue in Dirttown Valley. Mr. Walter Weaver is in Chatta nooga taking a commercial course in the Mountain City Business college, fie expects to finish in two months. Rev. and Mrs. James Jones, Miss Elenor Jones and Mr. Spencer Jones of Meridian, Miss., have been guests of Dr. R. D. Jones since Tuesday. Chattooga church in Wal ker county, would be of Interest to some of your renders, I wish to give the following account: The meeting began on the second ■ Sunday night in August and contin ued 10 days. The preaching was done by myself with the exception of three days, and Bro. Abe Sizemore did the preaching on these days. From the very first service there was an abiding interest manifest on the part of sinners, and the interest contin- : ued to increase all tile week. Sunday night there was an appar ent relaxation of Interest to a small j extent on account of rain. The meet- I ing was said to be the best held in I years. As a result of the meet ing we | had 37 additions to the hurch, 30 Iby experience and 7by letter; 2 ! may yet join by letter at the next ’ meeting. The church was greatly revived and there was almost as much interest manifested at the closing service last j Wednesday as at the first of the ■ meeting. To Jesus Christ be all the glory.
