FARMERS OF SEVENTH DISTRICT
Will Hold Convention at Lafayette
on October 14-15, 1909.
Rome, Ga.. Oct. 2, 1909.—The next
session of the seventh Congressional
district Union will be held with the
Walker county local at Lafayette on
October 14-15. This date was selected
at the last meeting which took place
in Rome and many members of the
Union of Floyd county are planning
to attend. The Rev. A. B. Carnes,
the president, and the Rev. A. P.
Jones, the secretary, will of course
be in attendance and other members
will accompany them.
The aim of the gathering is to
carry education to the adult farmer,
and a splendid program has been ar
ranged for the Lafayette meeting
that will carry out this idea. Some
of the speakers who made such fa
vorable impression here will be on
the program there, and others of
note are President Soule, State Col
lege of Agriculture, and Commission
er Hudson, The papers will all be
read in open session and the public
is invited to be present. The pro
gram follows:

50 per cent for General fund.
20 per cent for Pauper fund.
20 per cent for Bridge fund.
10 per cent for Jail fund.
It is also ordered that a tax rate of
one-tenth of one per cent be levi
