Mr and Mrs. Fred Harris of La
fayette moved to Trion Tuesday.
Born to Mr. and Mrs. B. Maffett
on Dec. 14, a handsome boy.
Mr. Fred Thomas will arrive home
from Powder Springs Friday and will
; return to school after the holidays.
Mr. Ed Mullinax who has been
■with the 26th Infantry Company M.
in Fort Wynes Mich., for the past
three years, arrived home a few days
ago. .
Mr. Jim Brown of Rock Springs
spent Tuesday in Trion.
Misses Georgia and Mabie Green
and Helen Myers spent Tuesday in
Chattanooga.
Misses Belle and Grace Thomas ar
rived from the G. N. I. College Thurs
day and will spend two weeks at
home.
Mr. Tom Pennington resigned his
position as boss of the weave shop
last Tuesday and Mr. J. P. Dillard
took charge. Mr. Dillard has given
up .the slasher room and Mr. George
Hayse has the position.
Mr. and Mrs. Lanhom and little
children moved to Cedartown where
Mr. Lanham has accepted a position
there.
, • Prof. Lane of Atlanta who was to
lecture here at the auditorum
Wednesday night on “Lessons not
learned in Books’’ came and gave a
very entertaining talk to the school
children but on account of the cold
weather and the steam pipes were
not in working order there were
only a few out so he did not deliver
hi'- lecture, much to the regret of
those who went.
Mr. and Mrs. Will Fitts and child
ren came up from Lyerly and spent
Wednesday with Mr. and Mrs. Bow
en.
Miss Cora Massey and Master
Jesse Fallis are spending this week
in Broomtown.
Messrs Charlie and Henry Massey
are spending this week in Lindale.
Miss Mary Nettie Strozier came
home from Young Harris College
Sunday and will spend three weeks
at home.
Miss Aggie Belle Mullens is visit
ing in Lindale.
Mr. and Mrs. Sewell Mullens and
two children are expected to visit
Mrs. S. A. Mullens during the holi
days.
Mr. Andrew Allgood of New York
spent a few days with his grand
mother, Mrs. M. A. Allgood, during
the past week.

are expected to spend Xmas at their
homes.
Mrs. Caroline Hammonds moved
Saturday to her daughters, Mrs. Lum
Hawkins in Armuchee.
Mrs. C. L. Thomas is much improv
ed after a long illness.
Mr. and Mrs. J. R. Ponder of West
Armuchee will spend Xmas with Mr.
and Mrs. J. W<. Justice.
Mr. and Mrs. George Rose visited
Mr. and Mrs. Al Hughes in Rock
Springs the past week.
Mr. Holcomb had the misfortune to
have his house hold goods smashed
up in a run away one day last week.
The team was owned by the Com
pany.
Mrs. Tom Fallis has been quite
successful with her little S. B. S. and
is delighted with the work. They are
getting up Xmas offerings for the
Foreign Missionary.
Mr. W. S. Shankel and family who
have been living in Oklahoma City
for the past several years have re
turned and will make their future
home in this county.
Mrs. Nat Boyd and children of
Chattanooga and Mrs. Ward Hixon
of Rossville will visit Mrs. T. P. Fal
lis during the holidays.
Mrs. George Rose went dowm to
Rome Sunday.

Chattanooga Thursday to perform
the marriage ceremony of two
friends.
Miss Carrie Richards of Madison
ville, Tenn., is expected to visit Rev.
and Mrs. A. F. Mahan during the
holidays.
Mr. Arthur Williams and Miss
Mary Fincher were married Sunday
morning at eleven o’clock by Rev.
Mr. Rogers. The ceremony was per
formed at the bride’s parents at
Welcome Hill.
Mrs. A. M. Warthan of Lafayette
visited Mrs. M. A. Allgood, Thurs
day.
Messrs Alfred S. and Deforest
Hamilton came home Wednesday
from Culver Military Acadamy.
Mr. and Mrs. Paul Cooper of Rome
came up Tuesday to spend the holi

no services at Bethel Sunday. Ser

Mr. John McCollum and Miss
Ovelle Barron were married Sunday

Mr. Henry Robinson has purchased
a farm in West Armuchee valley in
Walker County from Mr. Lester Wil
liams, and will move there this week.

We ask all the teachers to fill them
out promptly and accurately as pos
sible and send them to me at once.
Please send them in by the 28th.
