To The Citizens
Os Georgia
I have had under consideration for
sometime the question of whether or
pot I would make the race against
Commissioner Price for a place on
the Georgia Public Service Commis
sion.
I have definitely decided to run
against Commissioner Price in the
conii.ig primary, *<es.t September.
I have felt for a long time that
someone actively affiliated with the
business of the shippers of the
state should be on the commission,
and it is due somewhat to this con
viction that I have decided to make
the race. It has been a long num
ber of years since one of our cit
izens thus affiliated has been on the
commission. Reasons justifying this
representation on the part of the
shippers of the state, as a whole,
are too obvious for discussion.
I shall immediately begin an ac
tive campaign throughout the state
and expect to go into every county
in the state. In this way of cam
paigning, I will have ample oppor
tunity to thoroughly familiarize
myself with the conditions through
out the state and, particularly, get
ting a close-up view of the agri
cultural interest, which to my mind,
is seriously awaiting a solution in
matters of equitable transportation.
If elected, I shall strive to the
utmost to see that absolute justice
is done to shippers and carriers
alike, fostering every legitimate en
terprise to the erd that Georgia may
maintain her stand in the future,
as in the past, as the empire state
of the south.
