«$► This has been a good story—in its day.
Y ! Maybe some one in theh State hhasn’t hear it, so it will be X
A told again, because it does carry a little moral with it.
X This story is about a mule. And also about an Irishman- X
X ♦♦♦
X* The Irishman was riding the mule. A
*£ The mule decided to rid himself of the rider. Doubling him- X
(self up, and flinging his feet hither and yon, in that careless X
adandon characteristic of mulekind, he suddenly caught his ♦♦♦
foot in the stirrup. A
Looking down, the Irishman saw the mule’s foot in the stir- gn
rup whereupon he said: “Hold on, mule! If yez is going to get X
up, oi’ll get down. , f V

X That connects up with a savings idea. «»
A If the individual hasn’t been able to save, there ar some hab- X
«► its that must be dropped before savings can begin. • ♦<£
X It is a question for you to decide—are you going to ride, or «|*
is the mule going to be in the saddle? X

Twenty-three scouts and scoutmas
ter hiked out to Lowe’s spring last
Monday night. We started at 4 o'clock
and arrived at camp about five. After
a few minutes rest the scouts built
fires and prepared supper. Several of
the boys turned out to be splendid
cooks.
After supper some very interesting
stories and jokes were told.
About 7 o’clock, our bon-fire was
burning very low, we decided to start
home. On the way we stopped near the
school house, where some very inter
esting games were enjoyed by all the
gang.
Everybody had a grand and glor

ward to another hike soon.
A very important meeting next
Monday night, so all be present.
