DEATHS
RENTHA LEE DAVIS
Rentha Lee Davis, 1 year old
daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Roy Davis
of LaFayette, died Thursday, August
8, at 11:45 a. m.
Little Rentha Lee was born in
Thompson, Ga., August 15, 1937. Be
sides her father and mother, she is
survived by two brothers, J. C. and
Hoyt, one sister, Mary Etta Davis,
all of LaFayette.
Funeral services were conducted
from the residence of Mr. and Mrs.
Charlie Cothran, in East Trion Fri
day afternoon at 2:30 by Rev. C. A.
Reece.
Interment was in the Mt. Carmel
cemetery. Trion Dept. Store in charge
of arrangements.

HERMAN PETTYJOHN
Herman Pettyjohn, 21, a very pop
ular man of Trion and Spring Creek
communities died Sunday, August 4,
at 7:30 p. m.
Herman was well known and will
be long remembered in this com
munity. He was confined to his bed
several days before death.
Survived by his mother, Mrs. Ella
Pettyjohn, four brothers, Luther, Al
fred, Tommy and Archie, three sisters
Girtie and Minnie Pettyjohn, Mrs.
Lenna Wooten, all in and near Trion.
Fueral services were conducted
from the Spring Creek Baptist church
Monday afternoon, August sth at
3:30 by Rev Hoyt Allmon of Jeffer
son City, Tenn, and Rev. B. H. How
