On motion of George Agnew, sec
onded by Homer Hix, ordered by the
Board of Commissioners of Roads and
Revenue of Chattooga County, State
of Georgia, in regular session, held
19th day of September, 1938, that
a tax rate of Twenty-two Mills or
$22.00 per thousands dollars of all
the taxable property in the County
subject to taxation, returned by or
assessed against each taxpayer, in
the county for county tax for al)
county purposes for the year 1938,
calculated on the total of $3,946,170.01

fund for the purpose of caring for
the paupers, furnishing coal and wooc
and supplies, such as feed, clothing
medicine, doctors’ bills and all other
things needed by the poor and pay
ing the allowances of those persons
on the pauper list of the county. Anc

Three mills for old age assistance

359.81.
Five mills bridge fund for the pur
ose of paying contracts, for building

ing for small bridges not let by con

School Tax Levy—l93S
By virtue of the power vested in
the county school boards of the state
of Georgia by act of the general as
sembly August 18, 1919; page 68, the
board of education of Chattooga
County has recommended to this
board a tax rate of five mills for
school purposes. It is therefore or
dered by the board of commissioners
of roads and revenue in and for Chat
tooga County, that a tax rate of five
dollars per one thousand dollars of
the property he and the same is here
by levied and ordered collected on
all the taxable property in the coun
ty for school purposes for the year
1938, except in the independent
school districts, and all lawful com
missions.
It is also ordered that the follow
ing tax rate fixed by the county
school superintendent and trustees of
the local tax districts be and is here-
