MRS. FINK AND MISS THOMAS
HOSTESSES FRIDAY
Mrs. Charles Fink and Miss Ovelle
Thomas were joint hostesses at a
miscellaneous shower Friday evening
at Dr. Hair’s cabin, honoring Miss
Margaret Neal, a bride-elect of Dec.
18. After several games and contests,
little Benny Perry showered the
bride-elect with many . lovely gifts.
The Christmas motif was carried
out in both decorations and refresh
ments. The hostesses served a dainty
salad course. Thirty guests were
present.
The out-of-town guests were Mrs.
Roy dimer, Mrs. G. O. Climer, Mrs.
C. L. Jennings, Misses Jo Pritchett,
Jamie Thomason and Margaret Neal,
of Chattanooga; Mesdames J. H.
Cook, J. W. Brinsfield and Robert
Smith, of Rome; Mesdames Ross
Thomas and Allen Justice, of Trion.

The regular monthly meeting of the
W.MjS. will be held in the First Bap
tist church Monday afternoon at 2
p.m.
This being the last meeting of the
year is a very important one and the
president is making a special appeal
to every member to be present.

week-end guests Mr. and Mrs. Ed
Gregory, of Lupton City, Tenn., and
Miss Josephine Warren, of Atlanta.

tea and miscellaneous shower by the
faculty of Summerville High school.
Mrs. Frank Dillard and Mrs. Rob
ert McWhorter presided over the tea
table, which was centered with a
crystal bowl filled with chrysanthe

CHRISTMAS AND NEW YEAR HOLIDAY FARES
Effective December 10, Central of Georgia Railway
and its connections will establish Holiday excursion
fares throughout the Southeast on basis of 1 1-2 cents
per mile in coaches and 2 1-4 cents per mile interstate
in Pullmans, plus Pullman charge.
Excursion tickets will be on December 10 to
January 1, inclusive, final limit Jan. 10, 1939.
These low excursion fares will enable everyone to
visit friends and relatives during the holidays at low
cost.
There will also be excursion fares to the East and
parts of the West.
