ENTERTAIN MISS BROWN
Misses Jean and Sarah Agnew, of Trion,
entertained with a bridge party Wednes
day honoring Miss Bolling Brown, bride
elect, of Summerville, whose wedding to
Tnyt Farmer takes place July 20. The
colors, yellow and green, were carried
out in house decorations And also in the
refreshments which featured ice cream
in the shape of wedding slippers and wed
ding bells. On each plate was a minia
ture corsage, yellow and green.
A surprise linen shower was the cli
max of the party. Mrs. J. A. Agnew, mo
ther of the hostesses, assisted in entertain
ing. The guests included the bride-elect.

MISS BROWN HONORED
Adding to the social activities for Miss
Brown, bride-elect, was the party at
which Misses Lola Beatty. Zerilda Peck
and Mrs. H. L. McGinnis entertained
Thursday afternoon at the home of Miss
Beatty on Taylor street.
The house was beautifully decorated
with pink and white, which were the
olors chosen by the hostesses for the
olor scheme. Garden flowers in these
hades were used throughout the house.
Sixty-eight friends, including those of the
"'ride and her mother, Mrs. H. D. Brown,
were invited.
After bridge, the bride-elect was pre
■ited with gifts by the hostesses. A de
•rhtful ice course was served the bridge
•’ests and friends of the bride-elect who
ailed for tea.

EXHIBITION GOLF MATCH AT
LA FAYETTE WEDNESDAY
LA FAYETTE, July 12.—Miss Doro
thy Kirby, of Atlanta, nationally known
tor her golfing exploits; Miss Martha
Daniel, of Rome, state amateur champion,
and Miss Louise Suggs, of Atlanta, an
other high-ranking golfer in Georgia and
the south, will play an exhibition match
over the La Fayette municipal course
on next Wednesday afternoon, July 19.
beginning at 2 o’clock. Mrs. R. A. M ard
law, Jr., of La Fayette, will round out
le foursome.
This will be the first appearance in this
action of the state of at least two of
these outstanding golfers, and a large
gallery of North Georgia and Tennessee
golfers will doubtless be on hand for the
appearance of Georgia’s outstanding gal
golfers.”
The La Fayette Women’s Golf asso
iation is to be congratulated on secur
"ng such a galaxy of stars for an exhibi
tion and plans are being made to take
ire of the huge gallery, which the young

There will be no admission charges for
the exhibition and the golfers of Sum

the afternoon, twenty-five surprised boys:
shot free firecrackers, sons-of-guns and
