BRIDE-ELECT HONOREE
AT LUNCHEON
Mesdames E. R. Buskin and Jud Gar
vin entertained at a lovely buffet lunch
eon on Friday, July 14, at 1 o’clock at
the home of Mrs. Buskin, honoring Miss
Bolling Brown, popular bride-elect, of the
city.
The home was beautifully decorated
with cut flowers, following the color
scheme of green and white, which was
also artistically carried out in the well
planned menu of the luncheon.
Covers were laid for the bride-elect.

Looser, of Nashville, Tenn., visitor of the
bride; Misses Lola Beatty, Ava Louise

This delightful luncheon was climaxed
by a surprise miscellaneous shower hon
oring the bride-elect, at which she receiv
ed many beautiful and useful gifts.
W. M. S. MEETS.
The W. M. S. of the First Baptist
church met Tuesday afternoon at the
hurch. Mrs. Homer Wood had charge of
the program.
The topic for the month was “Carrying
Out the Great Commission In the Home
land.”
Mrs. Leon Storey gave a very beauti
ful devotional.
"The Great Commission and Home
Mission” was given by Mrs. T. J. Espy.
“Turning Home Mission Pages" was
given very effectively by eleven ladies.
The Annie W. Armstrong offering was
ven by Mrs. Will Clarkson.
After the program, delicious refresh
’ents were served by Miss Allie Bryant
and Mrs. Anna Bolling.
MISS BROWN HONORED
Miss Bolling Brown was honoree at a
lovely party at the Riegeldale tavern giv
•>n by Mrs. James Jackson and Miss
Elizabeth Jackson last Thursday after

to the room while the bride-to-be's place

to the occasion. A beautiful pair of pil
lowcases in mosaic work were presented
to the bride-elect by the hostesses, after
which a dainty salad course was served.

MISS BOLLING BROWN
Mesdames Frank Dillard. Robert Mc-
Whorter and Miss Kathryn Henley en
tertained at a lovely bridge narty Satur
day afternoon, July 15. at the Riegeldale
tavern, honoring Miss Bolling Brown,
popular bride-elect and Mrs. Jerrell 'Wil
kins, who is a visitor in the Selman
home.
The interior of the room was adorned
for the occasion with multi-colored gar
den flowers, blending in with the color
scheme of the party.
A delightful salad course was served
the honoree, the bride-elect’s mother and
{he guests. The bride was presented with
a dinner plate (Priscilla Lenox) selected
from her China pattern. Mrs. Wilkins
vas presented with a bottle of Lucien
Lelong perfume.

Mrs. O. M. Wooten. Carrie Lee and Hoyt,
of Perennial, attended the Sacred Harp
singing at Bethlehem Sunday.
