Sunday school at 10 o’clock ; Marvin

Rev. W. F. Conn filled his appointment
at this church Sunday at 11 o’clock. Also
Sunday night.
We were very glad to have the W. M.
I’, from Holland Sunday afternoon witli
its fine program. Also Mrs. Espy, from
Summerville. We have just organized a
W.M.U. at this place.
Mr. and Mrs. Henry Hughes and fam
ily spent Sunday in Summerville. Mrs.
Hughes met her brother, whom she had
not seen in eighteen years. Mr. Odum
will spend a few days visiting relatives
before returning to Oklahoma.
Mr. and Mrs. Hill Owens and little
twin daughters, Wilma Ray and Thelma
Mae. of Trion, spent the week-end with
homefolks here.
Mr. and Mrs. J. R. Hawkins, of Trion,
were visitors here over the week-end.
Deed Warren, of south Georgia, is
spending a few days here with his
daughters, Mrs. Nettie Owens and Mrs.
Frances Green, of Armuchee. Mr. War
ren is selling those good old south Geor
gia watermelons.
Mr. and Mrs. Zack Hawkins, of Dirt
town. attended church on Sand mountain
Sunday.
Miss Velma Price is spending a few
days with her sister, Mrs. DeForest
Owens.
Mrs. Ella Taylor and Billie and Dot
Howard, of Chattanooga, are spending
several weeks with Mrs. Henry Hughes
and family.
John Rosser, of Lyerly, is visiting on
Sand mountain.
Miss Mary Gentry, of Tidings, attend
ed church services here Sunday.
A revival meeting will start at the
church here the third Sunday in August.
Everybody is invited to attend.
The farmers of this place have had a
very heroic battle with grass, but the
farmers have just about won. They have
begun to lay by their crops.

ly. Ga. This animal is Frances’ Gay Boy
273165, according to the American
Guernsey Cattle club, Peterborough, New
Hampshire.

Dr. and Mrs. J. B. Phillips, Jr., of

Mrs. Clyde Crowe is spending several
days in Atlanta with her husband who is
jn a hospital there.
Miss Marjorie Libby, of Chattanooga,
and Misses Florine Champion and Mary
Elizabeth Eskridge, of Shelby, N. C.,
were guests of Miss Libby’s parents, Mr.
and Mrs. Ralph Libby, on the Fourth,
after which she returned with them to
North Carolina for a short visit.
Miss Winifred O'Rear has returned
home after an extended visit with friends
in Kentucky, West Virginia and Ten
nessee.
Miss Anna Floyd Culberson was guest
of Mr. and Mrs. Lee Culberson in Chat
tanooga last week.
Mr. and Mrs. Simon Guess, of Bir
mingham. were guests of Mrs. Guess’ mo
ther, Mrs. J.sL. Nail, recently.
Mr. and Mrs. Paul Kirby announce
the birth of a daughter on June 10.
Mr. and Mrs. A. L. Emerson. Jr., and
Misses Willie Mae and Janette Wilbanks,
of Barnesville, have returned home after
visiting Mr. and Mrs. A. L. Emerson.
Wiley Selman, of Armuchee. was the
guest last week of Mr. and Mrs. James
Selman.
Mrs. Annie Blevins, of Chattanooga, is
visiting her mother. Mrs. Betty Maxwell.
Mrs. H. F. Shigley and Miss* Mary
Warren, of Central, are visiting Mr. and
Mrs. Charles Crowe, of Fruithurst.
Mr. and Mrs. Hurst and daughter, of
Panama, will spend some time at their
summer home here.

sold by S. W. Hayes to the Trion com
pany-Riegeldale farm, of Trion. Ga. This
