Mr. and Mrs. T. S. Weems, of Lyerly,
announce the marriage of their daughter,
Dorothy, to John Knox Kennedy, of
Menlo, at Centre, Ala., Sunday.
The bride is the sister of Paul, Johnny,
Howard and Marnell Weems. She is a
graduate of Summerville High school,
and attended school at G.S.C.W. for
two years.
The bridegroom is the son of Mr. and
Mrs. Ernest Kennedy, of Menlo. He at
tended school at Moody Bible institute.
They are at home temporarily with the
bridegroom’s parents.

Andrew Johnson Thomas, of Summer
ville, and Miss Louise Young, of Duck
town, Tenn., were married Saturday, July
22, at the parsonage of the Rev. Wright
in Chattanooga, with the Rev. Wright of
ficiating. The only attendants were a few
close friends.

The Y. W. A. of the First Baptist
church met Monday night in the home
of Miss Alinazada Ellenburg.
Miss Evelyn Pledger had charge of an
interesting program. The subjeot of the
program was, “The Problems of the
