MISS SCOTT WEDS
MR. EVERETT
The marriage of Miss Sara Eliza
beth Scott and Henry Everett took
place at 9 o’clock Saturday evening,
March 29, at the home of the bride
south of Gore. The Rev. A. A. Tal
bot, pastor of the bride, performed
z the quiet rine ceremony in the pres
ence of the fainily and a few rel
atives and close friends of the
young couple.
Music for the occasion was play
ed by Miss Margaret Weesner, aunt
of the bride. The only attendants
were Miss Janie Scott and Jack
Scott, sister and brother of the
bride.
The bride was very attractive in
a heaven blue redingote, with a be
coming hat of beige straw and oth
er accessories were of beige. She
wore a shoulder spray of pink rose
buds and lilies of the valley.
‘ Mrs. Everett is the youngest
daughter of Mrs. E. P. Scott, who
was the former Miss Susie Weesner,
and the late E. P. Scott, Sr., life
long residents of Chattooga county.
She is a sister of Mary Sue, Maddie
and Janie Scott, and her brothers
are Oliver, E. P., John and Jack
Scott. She is employed at the U. S.
5 & 10c store in Summerville.
Mr. Everett is a son of Mrs. Dora
Everett, of Calhoun. His father, the
late W. E. Everett, was a well
known mail carrier in North Geor
gia for many years. His sisters are
Mrs. Gordon E. Goble, Misses Pearl
and Ruth Everett, of Calhoun, and
Mrs. F. A. Thompson, of Atlanta.
Jesse Everett, of Calhoun; Regi
nald, of Columbia, S. C., and Rex, of
Atlanta, are his brothers. Mr. Ev-
* erett is manager of the U. S. 5 &
10c store in Summerville.
The young couple will reside in
Summerville.
MISS CLARICE ELLENBURG
CROWNED “MISS S.H.S.”
The P.-T. A. pie supper and pop
ularity contest was a grand success
last Friday night—a profit of S4O
was made.
Misses Clarice Eilenburg and Mil
dred Pegg were the two contest
ants in the race for “Miss Summer
ville High,” Miss Eilenburg winning
j by a majority of 257 votes. Miss
Pegg received 1,600 votes and Miss
Eilenburg 1,857.
The finance committee wishes to
thank each one for their time and
co-operation.

Summerville Music Study club on
Wednesday afternoon, April 2, at
the Riegeldale tavern near Trion.
Miss Zerilda Peck directed a pro
gram on “Contemporary Compos
ers.” This program was announced
for the March meeting due to a
mistake made by the publicity
chairman. The March program was
on “Our Women Composers” and
was directed by Miss Virginia Har-

week. It was necessary to amputate
part of a finger. He will be in the
hospital several weeks. His friends
wish for him a speedy recovery.
