IN MEMORY
(By Orbelle R. Bagley)
His smile was ever showering
Great blessings on the way,
When dark clouds were lowering
They made me want to pray.
■ “What is to be will have to be,
For God will have His way;
So can’t you see, God cares for me—
He’ll keep me through this day;
So trust in Him, be not afraid,”
He testified His life,
“Come unto Him ere not His way
You’ll know not toil and strife.”
He did not boast, nor did he speak
Os great things He had done—
He lived His life and ne’er was weak
In service for the Son.
Yet as he toiled for-homes on earth
He built a mansion there.
He told men of our Saviour’s birth
And breathed for them a prayer.
Today we miss that soldier boy,
He bravely marched his way;
He’s gone from us unto our Lord
To live an endless day.
