Mrs. Bill Henry and daughter, Iris
Borham, will leave today (Thurs
day) for Norfolk, Va., to visit her
sister and brother-in-law, Mr. and
Mrs. J. G. Way, Jr., at their cottage
at Oceanview beach. Mr. Henry
will join Mrs. Henry some time in
August.
Mr. and Mrs. Winston Crawford
and daughter, Kathryn, of Pom
pano, Fla., are visiting relatives
here.
Miss Steele of Lyerly purchased
the house in the pines on College
street, formerly owned by B. W.
Farrar.
Mr. and Mrs. T. R. Jones and Miss
June Jones have returned to their
home in Macon after a visit with
relatives here and at Crossville, Al
abama.
Mr. and Mrs. John Newton Steele
of Rome are occupying the home
of Mr. and Mrs. Harry League. Mr.
Steele is the grandsbn of Judge
John Blake of Rome. He has been
transferred here from the Georgia
Power Company in Rome.
Mr. and Mrs. Harry League and
children are now residing in Bruns
wick.
Mr. and Mrs. Frank Scoggins,
Miss Mary Neal Scoggins and Bon
nie Ruth and Clovas League spent
their vacation last week in the
Great Smoky Mountains.

Mr. Guy Startsman of Cincinnati,
Ohio, announces the marriage of his
daughter, Shirl's Ann. to Thomas
William Selman, son of Mr. and Mrs.
Homer P. Selman, of Summerville,
Ga., on July 5, 1941. The ceremony
was performed at St. Peters Episco
pal church in Rome, Ga., Mr. James
Duncan officiating.
Mrs. Homer Selman was the
bride’s only attendant and Mr.
Homer Venture, nephew of the
groom, was best man.
Mr. Selman is connected with
the Western Electric Company and
the young couple will make their
home in Cincinnati.
REV. W. W. GLASS CALLED TO
FIRST PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH
The Reverend W. W. Glass of
I Halifax, Va., has accepted a call to
the First Presbyterian church and
will begin his pastorate the first of
August.

large three-tier cake topped with a

the cake were candelabra holding

The bride, upon entering, was giv-'
en an envelope containing a poem

s The cake was stuffed with gifts !
