Honorable T. Grady Head, of
Ringgold, Georgia, Catoosa county,
has been a practicing attorney of
Georgia for eighteen years.
Throughout his practice he has
been an outstanding member of
the law profession. Besides his work
as a lawyer, Mr. Head has held
important positions in the town,
county and state government, hav
ing served well in each capacity.
Mr. Head is well qualified for
the office of Attorney General of
the State of Georgia, for which he
is a candidate, by his training, ex
perience, ability and integrity. Our
association with Mr. Head both as
a man and as an officer has been
most prominent and we have found
him in every way to be of splendid
character and most capable in his
business and most likeable as an
individual.
This paper commends him t'/ the
people of Georgia and Chattooga
County.
Every advertisement in The Sum
merviille News is testimony that
past advertising has been profi
table.
We are not righting to create
a perfect world; we are at war to
save what we have and it is actually
in danger.
There are some hopeful signs of
cooperation between capital and
labor, which augurs well for the
nation’s war effort.
Chattooga County can unite upon
two objectives: Increase the sale
of War Bonds and decrease the ac
cidental death rate.
Truth stands revealed to men
very gradually; so, if you have a
precious revelation, hang on to it
like you would to a treasure.
The anticipation of hard work is .
extremely depressing bus, (when
the work is done, the realization of ,
its accomplishment is encouraging. ,
Despite our civilization most hu- ,
man beings give the bulk of their ,
effort to secure the necessities of
life, and some fail to get them.
We are sorry for Mr. Gandhi,
who thinks he could talk the Jap
anese out of their aggression; the
Tokyq gents would steal his loin
cloth.
Money is plentiful during the war
effort but it might be scarce be
fore we get through the post-war
adjustment era. Moral: Save some
now.
Our Own Suggestion: Let’s send
a couple of boatloads of pacifists
to Japan and let them try their
wiles on the war lords of the Far
East.
The Japanese are well-satisfied
with the enormous territory they
have captured; no doubt they would .
make peace on the basis of the
s.atus quo.

Millions of Americans, serving
the nation without compensation
in connection with the war emer

thanks of their fellow-citizens.
Education is worth all the money
that the nation spends on its prop

a small percentage of students
have sense enough to be partly
educated.

CARD OF THANKS

REMEMBER THE BLOOD
Remember the blood was shead for
you.
Can you return your part?
Your reasonable service means your
life,
With an honest working heart.
Someone was willing to redeem
your soul.
To save you from the lost.
Remember the blood dear sinner
That stained the rugged cross.
The purchase that made your
chance.
The blood that paid the price
Should make you well remember
You owe a sacrifice.
The devil did not redeem you,
No debt to him you owe.
If you will truely return your part,
May it for Jesus go.
Remember the bood was not in
vain
To those who woud be lost.
Because their chance was bright
as day
They failed to pay the cost.
Their cost would surely be the
world.
The world they won’t give up.
They give their life to satan and
sin.
And drink of the worldly cup.
Our God, He will not always strive,
His word is plain and true.
Remember the blood that stained
the cross
Was spilt for me and you.
