Daisy St. Clair, Sergeant Strange
Married October 22 in Summerville
The marriage of Miss Daisy Lou
St. Clair, daughter of Mr. and Mrs.
Hubert Carl St. Clair, of East Chat
tanooga, to Sergt. Carlton Wor
sham Strange, now of Philadelphia,
took place Oct. 22 at 8:30 p.m. at
the home of the bridegroom’s par
ents, Mr. and Mrs. Allen Edward
Strange, in Summerville, Ga. Elder
R. C. White officiated.
The bride was attired in a two
piece wool suit of cocoa brown with
matching accessories. She wore a
corsage of Talisman roses. Miss
Frances Lankford, maid of honor,
wore a soldier blue ensemble with
matching accessories and a cor
sage of pink roses. Charles Allen
Young was the best man.
An altar of greenery was flanked
-with candelbra of burning tapers
and urns of white chrysanthe
mums. Mrs. St. Clair wore a black
crepe dress with a corsage of red
roses. With her soldier blue wool
crepe dress, Mrs. Strange wore a
corsage of white carnations and
swansonia.
Miss Mae Earle Strange, sister of
the bridegroom, and Mrs. Daisy
Worsham assisted at the reception.
About 50 were present. The three
tiered wedding cake was placed on
i a silver reflector and an Irish linen
cut work cloth was on the table.
Out-of-town guests present at
the ceremony were Mr. and Mrs.
Frank Mann, Mrs. S. E. Strange and
Mr. and Mrs. R. M. Lee,, all of
Rome, Ga.; Mrs. M. O. St. Clair,
Miss Dorothy Harlow, of Rome,
spent the week-end with her par
ents, Mr. and Mrs. R. A. Harlow.

The Young Matrons club of the
First Baptist church met Monday
night with Mrs. A. B. Cordle. The
work of the group captains was
planned for the coming year, and
olans were made for a Christmas
party. Group I entertained the
club at the social hour.

The Chattooga Garden club met
Aast Friday in the home of Mrs.
J. A. Beavers, with Mrs. J. Wilson
Culpepper as co-hostes. Mrs. O.
P. Dawson, assisted by Miss Nelle (
Parrish, had charge of'a very in
teresting program, showing beau
tiful colored pictures of Georgia
flowers. Fourteen members were
present. Delicious refreshments
were served by the hostesses.

Hodes stores. She is the sister of
Miss Charlotte St. Clair and Har
old, Billy and Richard St. Clair.
The bridegroom was with the
Standard-Coosa-Thatcher company
before entering the army and is a
graduate of Summerville High
